Aberdeen Waterfall ποΈ
Aberdeen Waterfall is situated in Ginigathena in the Nuwara Eliya district. It stands at a height of 98 meters. The waterfall is the 18th highest waterfall in Sri Lanka. The unique feature here is that the main waterfall cascades down creating seven smaller waterfall.π
Aberdeen Falls is fed by the Kehelgamu Oya, a major tributary of the Kelani River. The waterfall is named after a town in Scotland, Aberdeenshire. Bathing and swimming into the middle of the Aberdeen Falls pool has led to many deaths in the past and present. Behind Aberdeen Falls is a large rock complex. Also, unsafely increasing water flow is also a major cause of these accidents.π
The way to reach Aberdeen Falls is to come from Ginigathhena town along Maskeliya road to Vidulipura town and from there to Kalaveldeniya village. To visit the waterfall, you have to go down about 500m from the side road. Notice boards have been installed to identify the entrance to the waterfall.so, I invite everyone to come and see the beauty of this waterfall without harming the natural environment.βοΈ
