Adam's peak
Among the places where the feet of Gautama Buddha were touched, Adam's peak or Sripadasthan is a sacred place that is respected by us Buddhists. The height of Sripada hill is about 2243 meters, which is located on the border of Ratnapura district in Sambaragamu district and Nuwara Eliya district in the Central Highlands.
Sripada Vandana season starts from December Poya day. From then on, the devotees get the opportunity to worship Sripadasthana for a period of six months. Sripada Vandana season ends with Vesak Pohoya in May and Sripada Avar starts from then. Devotees worship Sripada in the off-season as well.
There are six ways to reach Sripadasthan. The two main roads where most devotees travel are the Hatton - Nallathanniya road and the Ratnapura - Palabaddala road. Sripadasthan is a place of worship that should be worshiped very carefully, cleanly and with devotion, unlike other places of worship. Also, Sripadasthan can be called as a sacred place full of unbelievable miracles in the protection of Lord Sumana Saman.
